I’ve spent two decades as a musician learning what simple beauty sounds and looks like, and what gets in the way of it. That perspective is what I bring to every audio and video project, whether you’re an artist or a small business with a story to tell.
A singer-songwriter growing into production, with a unique vision and by now a lot of experience – that’s the short story.
The longer version?
I have studied cultural sciences and a little bit of linguistics at the Universities of Greifswald and Magdeburg, then music took over. During my university years I taught myself guitar and songwriting, made my first album on a Tascam 8-track machine and played my first concerts. Thank you if you were there! After leaving university for a more courageous life, I was lucky enough to get picked as a participating artist with concept artist Jochen Gerz’s 2-3 Straßen, a project that was part of the European Capital of Culture 2010. A year-long exchange with writers, painters, sculptors, theorists and the press that shaped my views on life in the arts.
School after school followed: A life as a hitchhiking busker in the streets of Europe, never knowing where I’d end up for the night, hoping and dreaming those experiences would give me the tools I’d need as a singer-songwriter afterwards, when I settled in Berlin to create my stage identity The Night Gardener. Albums and music videos, hosting open stages, playing concerts and little tours followed. I was working towards creating something so good and so authentic, it would have a chance at attracting music industry interest. Just when that was within my reach, the pandemic happened. So I moved flats once again, built a home studio and started digging deeper into audio production. Recently, after completing an 8-months course at IU Academy, I have added video work – filming and editing – to my tool box, and here we are.
